MY JOURNEY
My Journey
Born in 1956 in Lure (Haute-Saône), François-Michel Duguet has devoted his life to three passions pursued simultaneously with rare intensity. Trained at the École Hôtelière de Genève, he developed from a young age a demand for excellence that would define his entire career.
The Hotelier of Excellence
Trained at the École Hôtelière de Genève, he built a distinguished career in Parisian luxury hospitality from 1976 to 1994, contributing to the opening of prestigious establishments. In 2005, together with his wife Sophie, he created the Manoir de Restigné, a listed 17th-century historic monument with a Michelin star, in the heart of the Loire Valley. In 2018, they founded the Domaine Plessis Gallu in Azay-le-Rideau, a 5-star holiday rental property.
The Lyric Artist
Gifted with a remarkable countertenor voice, he has performed on major French stages: Salle Gaveau, Opéra Garnier, and regional opera houses. In 1989, he founded the Ensemble Musical Porporino, touring Parisian and French stages. He honed his craft under the guidance of the renowned Iva Barthélémy. In 2021, he founded Les Lyriques d'Azay-le-Rideau, a lyric academy and summer heritage festival.
The Author
As a writer, he published in 2025 Entre ombres et lumières (an autobiographical novel) and Complots et secrets au château (a political satire novel). Two new works are in progress for 2026: a documentary noir novel Ténèbres de cités — Chronique d'une narco-République and an essay La France de mes 7 ans — Chronique Politique d'un Français moyen 1956-2026.
